Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on July 5, 2009, aged 83 years.  Predeceased by his parents Mary Grace and William Taylor and brothers Don and Bert.  Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Ruby; daughter Vonita; brother Arthur (Mildred); sisters Lillian and Gladelle (Ivar); sister-in-law Malviny (Roy); nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives, friends and especially the Deaf Community.  Special thanks are extended to Dr. B. Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Complex on Wednesday,

HOWSE, Charles Avalon – Passed away unexpectedly at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Charles Howse, aged 84 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years Frances; sons: David (Karen) and Donald (Elizabeth); brother Lloyd (Faye); grandchildren: Alex, Ian and Fiona, Shanna (Joe) and Emma; sister-in-law Sheila (Harry); brothers-in-law: George (Geraldine) and Bob (Theona), as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Charles’ memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Courage, Constance Lillian Theresa (nee Smith) - passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on Tuesday, August 13th, 2013.  Connie was born February 9th, 1931 to James and Teresa Smith at Canso, Nova Scotia, the second youngest of eight children.  Connie was predeceased by her husband John (Jack), brothers harry, Howard, William, Robert, and sisters Catherine (Kay) MacDonald and Nora Morris.


Left to mourn are her children John (Heather), Robert (Judy) and Brenda, her granddaughters Allison 9Keith Clarke), Charlotte 9Stephen Archibald) and Stephanie, her brother Edmund (Sharon) of Lower East Chezzetcook, N.S., brother-in-law Ralph (Selina) Courage and sisters-in-law Marjorie Squires, Agnes Courage and Doreen Courage and many nieces and nephews.  Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.  Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the online guest book.

Passed peacefully away, Thomas Vallis, age 77 on January 8th, 2014.    Predeceased by his brother-in-law Reginald Lane and his parents Bertha and Onslow Vallis. Passed on: March 15th, 2013.  Age 66 of Trepassey, Newfoundland, passed away on Friday March 15th, 2013 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born April 5th, 1946 to Ronald and Nora Peddle (Butland). She is survived by her husband of 41 years Donald Peddle, and her four boys: Jason (Angele), Sonny (Lisa) , Paul (Krystle) , Sandy (Allison) and seven grandchildren: Avery, Zachary, Nathan, Mason, Noah, Madison and a little boy due to join our family in July. She is also survived by six brothers and six sisters. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and her very close and special friends from the deaf community. She loved to cook for everyone and travelled extensively to see her boys. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s memory maybe made to the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of the Deaf or to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Canada. Resting at Carnell’s funeral home, 329 Freshwater Rd on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will take place at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 168 Macdonald Dr. on Tuesday March 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Rd.
